About Elelctrified Double Track Project
 

The northern Electrified Double Track project Ipoh to Padang Besar comprises the design and construction of the infrastructure and systems works for 329-km. Work involves the laying of two new parallel tracks to replace the existing single-track, including new stations, bridges, as well as modern electrification and signalling systems.

Government reactivated the Electrified Double Track project since deferment in December 2003

March 2007
MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture submitted Technical and Financial Proposals to the Government

Oct 2007
The negotiations led by the Economic Planning Unit were concluded

13 December 2007
Letter of Acceptance was issued to MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture
